Best Radar App Available (Mac, iPad, iPhone)
RadarScope is my go-to radar application for my Macs, multiple iPads, and all the family iPhones. The in-app purchase (~$9.99/year) provides increased functionality that I like, but is not absolutely necessary…the enhancements include lighting strikes, extended radar loops, and Super Res Level 2 radar data…that said, I bought it and have renewed it annually, too. I’ve been using this app for many years now, and it’s been stable through all the updates. It has a wealth of functionality that will give you as much data as your local TV newscaster…and that is without the AllisonHouse feeds, or using the other ‘advanced’ capabilities. I have 15 plus weather apps and a handful of dedicated radar applications. This is the best I’ve seen as as close to ‘expert mode’ as you can get. And, although it has lots of functionality, you can run it in Composite Reflectivity mode if you like too (versus of reflectivity capabilities, velocity capabilities, estimated rainfall, echo tops, and about 25+ other radar features). It’s also well thought out and very intuitive, very user friendly in that you can add major roads, cities, storm tracks warnings….or you can choose to not overlay these layers. Sprend the money and get it, get the best, have no regrets. Okay?
